FOGGY WEATHER

CAUSES ACCIDENTS

The foggy weather and slippery roads were responsible for a number of auto accidents during the past week. Al Pohl and William Kembel returning from Spokane in the former's Ford coupe, had their car turn turtle when they turned out to pass another car near the Fullquartz place on the highway. Mr. Pohl was skinned up about the knees and Mr. Kembel had a blow on the head which left him dazed for quite a time. Fred Verdonk drove up and picked them up and brought them to town. The car was badly damaged.

HOSPITAL DISTRICT PLANS FINALIZED FOR YEAR 2000

Plans have been in the making for the last year and now East Adams Rural Hospital Administrator Jim Parrish said the district is prepared for Y2K.

Emergency procedures have been developed and studied by staff should a problem arise, bottled water has arrived, a new larger generator purchased and supplies such as batteries are on order.

"We are ready," Parrish told the EARH board of commissioners at the Tuesday night meeting.

Parrish said several staff members and EMTs will be at the hospital New Year's Eve should any problems arise.
