Diaz-Layne apprehended in Moses Lake
RITZVILLE — A Moses Lake man posted bail after being arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on numerous theft-related charges connected to Adams and Whitman Counties.
Tomas Diaz-Layna, 34, of Moses Lake, was booked into the jail on Nov. 7 and released Nov. 14, jail records show. He is facing charges of residential burglary, second-degree burglary, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and first-degree theft.
According to Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner, Diaz-Layna was wanted in connection with multiple burglaries.
He was arrested after deputies, assisted by Moses Lake police, executed a search warrant at a home in Moses Lake, records show. During the search, deputies recovered evidence and stolen property linked to burglaries in the Ritzville area and nearby Whitman county.
“Great work by our team,” Sheriff Wagner said.
Details of the burglary cases were not immediately available.
Assault case
In an unrelated case, local deputies assisted the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office with an alleged firearms-related assault in Kahlotus.
One person, whose name was not released, was arrested for second-degree assault.
“This successful outcome highlights the dedication and professionalism of both agencies in ensuring the safety of our community,” Franklin County Sheriff Jim Raymond said. “We extend our appreciation for ACSO’s invaluable support in bringing this case to a swift and peaceful resolution.”
