Motorist injured when car hits deer

Driver taken to Moses Lake hospital

PACKARD — A motorist eastbound on Interstate 90 was hospitalized Oct. 4 when his vehicle hit a deer.

Vicente I. Vara Collado, 30, of Federal Way, was transported to a Moses Lake hospital for treatment of crash-related injuries.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Collado was eastbound in his 2018 Honda HR-V at about 10:05 p.m. when he struck a deer.

The vehicle overturned at the scene of the crash about 27 miles west of Ritzville.

As of press time, the patrol had not reported if Collado was wearing a seatbelt or if drugs or alcohol was a factor.

Ritzville Towing removed the vehicle from the crash scene.
