NEW DOCTOR LOCATES

IN RITZVILLE

As a number of people have inquired

concerning Dr. H.R. Bankerd,

who recently located permanently to

Ritzville, the following personal facts

will be of interest.

Dr. Howard R. Bankerd was born

in Ohio in 1875. He graduated from

high school and the Ada, Ohio business

college. Taught in the pbulci schools in

Ohio, he graduated from Ohio Northern

University Liberal Arts Course in 1899...

in 1904, graduated in medicine and surgery

from the medical department of the

University of Illinois.

DANEKAS TELLS OF

GRADE SCHOOL'S

BUILDING HISTORY

At the recent formal dedication

of Ritzville's new grade school, W.G.

"Bill" Danekas, chairman of the school

board, presented an outline of the elementary

school building.

His history disclosed:

The old Central school building was

constructed in three parts, the first in

1890 at a cost of $12,000; the second in

1904 at a cost of $8,000; and the third in

1927 at a cost of $9,739.

Improvements costing $2,500 in

1933 brought the total investment in

Central school to $32,239.

BRONCETTES ARE

SELLING STATIONERY

The Ritzville High School Broncettes

are sponsoring a stationery sale

during the month of October, according

to spokesman Virginia Hoffman. Each of

the Broncettes have a catalog for inspection

and anyone interested in helping

them in their fund drive can contact one

of them.

The nine Broncette members are

Algene Ott, Miss Hoffman, Jeannine

LeFevre, Bararba Riiter, Lorna Langenheder,

Charlene Janssen, Patty Clark, Liz

Schuoler and Rhonda Bohms.

COUNTY AWARDS BID ON

BRIDGE PROJECTS

Motorists in two parts of the county

will soon encounter road detours as two

bridge projects get underway.

The Adams County Commissioners

opened and awarded a bid for the project

on Monday to A&R Construction, Inc.,

of Lewiston, Idaho.

The project includes the Johnathan

Borgens Bridge on Bauer Road, approximately

three miles north of Rosenoff

Road and SP&S overhead bridge just

east of Benge on the Benge-Winona

Road. Adams County Public Works Engineer

Tech Todd O'Brien said Tuesday

by hone that the contractor has indicated

work could begin in late October and be

finished early in January.
