Leaders, students to discuss opportunities
RITZVILLE — More than three dozen businesses and agencies will be on hand Thursday, Oct. 10, to showcase career opportunities in the Adams County area.
Students from Lind-Ritzville, Harrington and Washtucna high schools will be issued a “passport” to help them keep track of business and governmental jobs highlighted by the Lind-Ritzville Career Showcase.
The showcase, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is being organized by Kyle Niehenke, executive director of the Adams County Development Council.
“The goal with the passports is to encourage the students to have meaningful conversations with our vendors, and at the end of their session, they will enter passports into a collection box to be eligible for drawing prizes, Niehenke said.
Lind-Ritzville freshmen and sophomores, and Washtucna students will meet with employers from 8:30-10:15 a.m.
Lind-Ritzville juniors and seniors, and Harrington students will visit with employers from 10:15 a.m. until noon.
From noon to 12:30 p.m., lunch and a business roundtable are planned for participating employers.
