Seven arrested in two pursuits

Adults, juveniles apprehended

OTHELLO — Seven people were arrested Sept. 22 after an incident between the occupants of two vehicles turned into pursuits that led law enforcement officers to Grant and Franklin Counties.

Two juveniles were arrested in Warden after fleeing Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Meanwhile, two adults and three juveniles were arrested in the second vehicle near Connell, in Franklin County.

Authorities have yet to release the names of any of the seven arrestees, even though they are public record.

The two teenagers apprehended near Warden are charged with felony harassment, attempting to elude and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The two adults and three teenagers arrested near Connell are charged with felony harassment and attempting to elude.

The arrests stem from an incident reported between the occupants of two vehicles in the West Kenfield Lane area near Othello, where one person allegedly flashed a gun after partially lifting his shirt, records show. The vehicles and occupants left the area before deputies arrived.

However, deputies later spotted the suspect vehicles on West Highway 26 and West Moon Road, and attempted a traffic stop, records show. But the drivers fled and deputies pursued in multiple vehicles.

The drivers split up, as did pursuing deputies, records show.

One vehicle eluded the pursuing deputy, but was later located in Warden, where the two teenagers were arrested.

The occupants of the second vehicle were pursued into Franklin County.

During that pursuit, an occupant threw bullet casings out a window near Connell, records show, noting the casings were recovered.
