Local girls sweep Asotin

ASOTIN — The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls volleyball team continued their march tow a return trip to the state championship game last week by sweeping Asotin, 3-0.

Individual stats were not reported.

The Broncos (5-0) have only given up two sets all season, both to the Davenport Gorillas, in a 3-2 win Sept. 12.

This week, the Broncos return home Tuesday and Thursday.

On Tuesday night, Sept. 24, the Broncos hosted league rival Colfax. The newspaper went to press before game time.

Colfax comes into the game with a 2-2 record. But don’t let the losses fool you — they are a 3-2 loss to Class 2A Pullman and a 3-0 loss to Class 4A Ferris, both much larger schools.

In 2B volleyball, Colfax has not lost a set. The Bulldogs opened the season with a 3–0 sweep of Upper Columbia Academy and a Sept. 21 sweep of Goldendale, 3-0.

On Thursday, Sept. 26, the Upper Columbia Academy Lions from Spangle will be here. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.

As of press time, Upper Columbia remained winless on the season and has not won a single set.

The Lions were scheduled to play Liberty, a school just 2 miles from the Upper Columbia campus, on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
