Broncos compete in Highlander

SPOKANE - Six Lind-Ritzville/Sprague runners hit the course Saturday against much larger teams at the Highlander Invitational cross country meet on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Shadle Park High School.

The high school course covered 2.5 miles around the school grounds.

In the freshmen boys race, Cade Galbreath finished 95th overall with a time of 17:42.10. Bronco teammate Wyatt Walker finished 11th with a time of 18:28.30.

In the senior boys race, Bronco Cameron Christianson finished 81st overall with a time of 17:40.80.

That was the fastest time posted by a Lind-Ritzville runner.

In the girls freshmen race, Reagan Korthuis finished 38th overall in a time of 20:39.60.

Meanwhile, her older sister, Maeve Korthuis, competing in the junior girls race, finished 81st overall with a time of 22:25.30.

And in the senior girls race, Savannah Carruth finished 41st with a time of 19:56.70. That was the fastest time for the local girls.

The Broncos cross country team travels to Wenatchee this coming Saturday, Sept. 21, where they will run in the Wenatchee Cross Country Invite in Walla Walla Point Park.

The invite is for middle and high school boys and girls. The first race starts at 9:30 a.m.
