Man sought in shooting of parents

BASIN CITY - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in finding a man who allegedly shot his mother and step-father.

Deputies are seeking information on the whereabouts of Daniel Arceo-Martinez, 28, in connection with the shooting.

According to Franklin County investigators, at about 5:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 9090 Sagehill for a report of two people being shot.

The victims - whose names have yet to be released even though they are public record - were transported to an Othello hospital, where one was admitted in critical condition.

Deputies said the shooter was identified as Arceo-Martinez, who allegedly fled in a white 2009 Chevrolet Impala.

"At this time, the suspect has not been located and we are asking the public to be vigilant," Franklin County Sheriff's Office Det. Sgt. Warren said on social media. "If you see Arceo-Martinez, call non-Emergency Dispatch at 509-628-0333."

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Arceo-Martinez is asked to call Warren at 509-628-0333, reference Case no. 24-013936.
