Adams County primary election results certified

RITZVILLE — The Adams County primary election results on August 6, finalized Tuesday, Aug. 20, with a voter turnout of 31.54%.

The count of 2,560 ballots out of 8,117 registered voters has determined key outcomes for several local and statewide races.

In local elections, incumbent Dan Blankenship emerged as the leading candidate for County Commissioner District 1 with 62.37% of the vote.

For County Commissioner District 2, Jay R Weise won with 54.92% of the votes. Dave Larson secured the lead for the Supreme Court Justice Position #02 in judicial races with 43% of the vote.

Several special propositions also saw decisive results. Lind Park and Recreation Proposition 1 was approved with 68.01% of the vote, while Ritzville Park and Recreation Proposition 4 was approved by 65.18%. Additionally, Cemetery District 1 Proposition 1 passed with 80.33% of the vote, although Cemetery District 2 Proposition 1 faced a closer race but still passed with 54.26%.

Adams County voters showed significant support for several candidates on the state and federal levels. Dave Reichert emerged as the leading candidate for Washington State Governor with 50.74% of the vote.

Dan Matthews secured a prominent position for Lt. Governor, receiving 44.64% of the vote.

Dale Whitaker topped the race for Secretary of State with a commanding 71.87% of the vote.

Sharon Hanek led in the contest for State Treasurer with 76.6%, while Pete Serrano achieved a clear victory for Attorney General with 77.61%.

Michael Baumgartner led in Congressional District 5 with 39.25% of the vote in congressional races, and Dr. Raul Garcia emerged as a strong contender for U.S. Senator from Adams County with 43.17%.
