Highway 26 roadwork underway

OTHELLO – Motorists on state Highway 26 will encounter traffic delays on two separate stretches of the highway this week.

Road work began Monday, Aug. 12, and will continue through Aug. 22.

Work will take place along two stretches of the highway.

One stretch goes from Milepost 43, just east of Othello, to Milepost 61, northeast of Hatton. The other stretch goes from the Interstate 90 junction near Vantage to Milepost 31 at Royal City.

Work on the Othello-to-Hatton stretch was scheduled to run from Aug. 12-14. Work on the Vantage-to-Royal stretch is scheduled for Aug. 14-22. After the chip seal work ends, contractors will work on roadway delineation until late summer.

Travelers will encounter pilot cars and flagger-controlled traffic while contractors perform chip sealing work during daylight hours.
