Woman found ‘turning shades of blue’
OTHELLO — Two Adams County deputies saved the life of a woman who overdosed on drugs July 17.
The two deputies whose identities have not been released are credited with administering NarCan to a 38-year-old woman found on the ground in the 300 block of South Reynolds Road.
“The actions of responding deputies directly lead to the subject surviving an overdose incident and being transported to a local medical center for treatment,” Sheriff Dale Wagner said. “The teamwork/professionalism displayed by responding deputies was outstanding.”
According to the sheriff, the deputies were dispatched to the scene, where the woman was found “turning shades of blue.”
CPR was already in progress, records show.
Arriving deputies recognized signs the woman had overdosed on an opioid and administered two doses of Narcan, the brand name for naloxone.
