Marin (Elliott) Fode
Nov. 6, 1938 - July 2, 2024
Marin (Elliott) Fode, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 85. Her unwavering faith and profound love for her family defined her life. As she took her last breath here, she was welcomed into the peaceful and loving presence of our Lord and Savior.
Marin was born on Nov. 6, 1938, in Ritzville, Wash. She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1957, married and moved to Lind with her forever love, Eddie Fode. Marin worked at the Ritzville City Clerk's Office, then as the Lind High School secretary, and later as a multi-language paraeducator at Lind Elementary School. After having lived in Lind for 59 years, it was a difficult decision for her to move away.
Thankfully, the Christian retirement community Marin moved into in Shoreline, Wash. was a perfect fit for her!
It was so welcoming, friendly, and comfortable – it was like another small-town community for her, and Cristwood Park truly became a home to her. She had many dear friends amongst the residents and staff.
Marin had a great love for the Lord that continued to grow deeper and deeper through the years. She was a woman of prayer whose greatest prayer was for her family, friends, and others to commit their lives to Jesus. Marin was a very gentle. sweet, soft-spoken lady who was a quiet listener and loyal friend. She had a special way of making people feel comfortable and cared for.
Marin so enjoyed doing arts and crafts, especially painting ceramics. Her family is very thankful for the beautiful items she made us that we have to cherish as keepsakes from her. Marin's service in the church over the years was very important to her, she also valued the opportunities she had to participate in Bible study groups, she felt it a privilege to serve on the Adams County election committee, and always looked forward to crafting with friends. Marin was a lifetime reader and liked the monthly book club meetings and her time volunteering in the library. Of all the different roles Marin had, there was no role that was more important to her than the blessing of being "Noni" and "Nona" to her four precious grandchildren. The sun truly rose and set for her in each one of them. She loved them dearly, deeply, and unconditionally.
Marin is survived by her daughter, Kim (John) Lobe of Bothell, Wash; daughter in law, Suzi Fode, granddaughter, Randi Fode, and grandson, Jordan Fode, all of Moses Lake, Wash; grandson Brooks Lobe, of Seattle, Wash; granddaughter Mikaela (Tyler) Edwards of Nashville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Marin was preceded in death by husband, Eddie Fode; son, Billy Fode; parents, Martin and Esther Elliott; brother, Verlin Elliott; brother, Gary Elliott; and sister, Julie (Weitensteiner) Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Lind Assembly of God Church, Lind Community Church, Lind Senior Center, or the "Grandparent Fund" at Crista Ministries in Shoreline, Wash.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Lind Cemetery. All are welcome to gather to honor Marin's memory and celebrate a life filled with love, faith, family, and friends.
