Elaine (Vostral) Fracchia

June 17, 1943 –Apr. 23, 2024

Elaine passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Elaine’s life was rich with rewarding experiences, much of which faded away due to Alzheimer’s. Elaine was born and raised on a farm in Ritzville. She left the farm after high School for nursing school at Sacred Heart in Spokane. Her career spanned 46 years caring for others.

After graduation in 1964 she married Vic Fracchia and left Washington State and moved to California. The couple had two children (Alicia and John) but went their separate ways in 1980. Elaine did not remarry but raised her children and continued her career. As a grandmother, she loved to help with the kids by teaching them about cooking and other life experiences. She made famous making hash browns, strawberry pie, and always had home baked cookies on hand. She brought her kids and later grandkids back to the farm in Ritzville to get a small look of what farm life was like. They enjoyed riding on the combine during harvest and had experiences with helping feed the animals on the farm. She also came back after retirement to help with butchering and making sausage with her brother and family. She always made sure to make cookies and Kuchen for the freezer before going back home.

Elaine loved to travel with friends going to many countries and places in the United States. Elaine’s memory is honored by her two children and spouses, her four grandchildren, her sister (Helen Pitman of Spokane) brother (Tony Vostral of Ritzville) along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered and respected by a loving community of friends and colleagues.
