Vicki Lynn (Borth) Younker

June 18, 2024

Vicki Lynn (Borth) Younker went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 18, 2024.

Vicki was born to Victor and Bette (Maier) Borth in Ritzville, Wash., where she was raised on the family wheat farm with her 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She grew up attending Lind schools k-12 and eventually graduated from Lind High School. She went on to further her education at Ester's School of Beauty in Spokane, Wash.

At the ripe age of 18 she met the love of her life, Mike Younker, and they were wed in Nov. 1969. Once Mike and Vicki were married, they moved to Valdez, Alaska for commercial fishing. There they welcomed their first daughter, Danelle Jo, followed 11 months later by their son Jason; a set of Irish twins. When living in Alaska, Vicki held different occupations: a homemaker, owning a hair salon, and babysitting all the family friends' children. During this season of Vicki's life, she entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, thus changing the rest of her life and her eternal address.

After several years, Mike and Vicki moved back to Spokane, Wash. for a couple years. They later moved to Lewiston, Idaho where they welcomed their daughter Rachel. In these years, Vicki worked in Christian schools and churches where she was a light to everyone she came into contact with; all while taking tremendous care of her family.

After 18 years of marriage and 18 different moves, Mike and Vicki finally settled down in Mount Vernon, Wash. and remained there for the past 36 years. For a short season Vicki worked at Calico Cupboard as a baker. She then went on to open The Blind Pro window covering business that she continued to run and operated with her husband over the past 24 years. Together they have met and served countless people in the Skagit Valley.

Throughout her time on earth, Vicki touched many lives. Especially the lives of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was affectionately known as MomMom to her grandchildren and she lived up to that name. She was an amazing cook and baker, and a creative and artistic woman who had an ability to make a home feel like a home. She enjoyed planting and creating beautiful flower pots each summer, and they always thrived in her care. Above all, she had a passion and heart for Jesus and she shared that with her family. Her legacy of faith is one we will strive to carry on. Throughout the past six years Vicki has been a member of Citipoint Church. There she was involved with Foster Church Ministry and regularly served in the nursery with her granddaughter Charlee. She had a huge heart for children and used that heart to support World Vision as well.

We are blessed and honored to have had her as a wife, mom and MomMom. Her absence has left a huge void in our lives, but we are beyond thrilled to know that she is in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. We take comfort that this is not goodbye, but a "see you later." We are grateful to every person who has reached out to support and pray for us during this time.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31: 28-31

Vicki is survived by her husband Mike, son Jason (Chelli) Younker of Coeur d' Alene, ID; daughter Rachel (Bill) Trueman of Lyman, Wash. Her six grandchildren, Jet Younker, Jace Younker, Tori Younker, Charlee Trueman, Trent Trueman and Raelynn Trueman; her three siblings Doug (Linda) Borth, Pam (Steve) Kulm, Brian (Diane) Borth; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father Victor Borth, mother Bette Borth, daughter Danelle Younker, and sister Denise Tompkins.
