Jeffrey Dale Snider passed away on May 31, 2024 at Sacred Heart Hospital with his family by his side. Jeff was born in Spokane, Wash. to Jimmie and Glenna Snider. Jeff was the oldest of 3 children.

He attended grade school in Tyler and then moved to Ritzville where he finished his education and graduated in 1967. While living in Tyler his dad ran a logging and grain trucking business. In 1958 the family moved to Ritzville and eventually started Snider Trucking.

He married the love of his life, Mary Catherine Chertude in August of 1969. They had 2 children, Jodie and Jeffrey.

He is well remembered for his work ethic while working under his Dad at Snider Trucking eventually taking the family business over. Jeff had great pride in his business and was well know by the community for providing great service with shiny well-maintained equipment. Jeff was also known for running a "daycare" at Snider Trucking in which he watched his grandkids and took great joy in this. Jeff always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone who needed it. He loved spending time golfing, working in his yard, cheering on the Zags, watching WSU football, helping at the fairgrounds and being with his family. He loved it when he got to have cheeseburgers for dinner. He attended his grandkids sporting events and loved cheering them on, he was their biggest supporter, and they always knew he was there. Jeff always looked forward to his yearly trips with Cathy to Hawaii. In the past year Jeff spent a lot of time with his great granddaughters. He loved playing with Joslyn and going for walks and sneaking her treats, she had him wrapped around her finger. Jeff was not only known as "Papa" to his grandkids, but to many of their friends as well.

He is survived by his wife Cathy of 54 years, his children Jodie (Aaron) Esser, Jeff (Jacqui) Snider. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brooke (Austin) Nelson, Bryce Esser, Blake Esser, Brenik Esser, Mason Brauson, Morgan Brauson and Raegan Snider. Jeff is also survived by his great granddaughters Joslyn Nelson and twins Paisley and Wrenley Nelson. He is survived by his sister Connie (Jim) Waldher and their son John and brother-in-law David Steinmetz. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara.

There will be a public viewing on June 28 from 1:30-5:00 at Danekas Funeral Home. There will be a private family burial June 29 at the Ritzville Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at the Knuth Building, Wheat Land Communities Fairgrounds at 1:00 pm with Pastor Steve Schofstoll. Following the Celebration there will be a lunch served.
