Darryl L Jennings
Mar. 14, 1945-June 1, 2024
Jennings, Darryl L, 79, completed his temporal journey Saturday, June 1, 2024 in a Spokane care facility.
Darryl and his wife, Joyce, were residents of our community for many years. They came here in the mid 1980’s from Beltsville, Maryland when Joyce accepted a nursing position with our local hospital and Life Care, Inc.
Darryl was a very social, happy person who never met a stranger. He frequently visited the local establishments on his walks through town and “caught up” on all the “doings” of small town life. At 6’7” he had a commanding presence and carried himself with bold assurance. He kept himself well-versed in national politics, auto mechanics, religions of the world and favored his National Geographic magazine along with a host of other topics. He loved his family and his beloved pets.
Darryl was born in March 14, 1945, in Prince Georges Co., Maryland to Joseph H and Vivian R (Edwards) Jennings. He worked for a time for the federal government in D.C. He married Joyce Clarke in Dec. 1973 in Greenbelt, Maryland where they had their first home. She passed away in June 2014.
He leaves behind to mourn his absence in their lives a loving sister, Donna, of PA, sisters-in-law, Fran, Jane, Sharon and Peggy; brothers –in-law, John and Ed and many nieces and nephews from the east coast to the west.
Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Alan, Vince and Neal and one nephew and one niece.
The family expresses their gratitude to North Central CC and the Neptune Society for their loving care to Darryl and for the care of his remains.
