Broncos medal at state

YAKIMA - Several Lind-Ritzville/Sprague tracksters brought medals home from the state 2B meet at Zaepfel Stadium from May 23-25.

Zoe Galbreath posted the highest finish for the Broncos, finishing second and bringing home a silver medal in the pole vault.

Zach Klein paced the boys, taking third-place and bringing home bronze in the 400-meter with a time of 52.43.

Klein just missed a medal in the boys 200-meter, where he finished ninth in the preliminaries with a time of 23.30, just .07 seconds behind Toleda's Trevin Gale, who advanced as the last runner to qualify for the finals.

Other medalists include Brody Boness, Shawn Steinberger, Bridger Moore, Damon Schilling, Brock Kinch, Allesdandra Mendez, Saige Galbreath and Claire Wellsandt.

"Zoe had a PR of 9 foot, 6 inches in the pole vault," Lind-Ritzville Athletic Director Dustan Arlt said.

Klein won his bronze in the 400-meter with a time of 52.43.

Boness took fifth overall in boys shot put with a personal record throw of 49-11.

Both the boys and girls 4X400 Relay teams placed, with the boys taking fifth and the girls eighth. The boys finished with a time of 3:36.89 and the girls with a time of 4:31.46.

The boys team consisted of Klein, Steinberger, Moore and Schilling. For the girls, it was Zoe Galbreath, Mendez, Saige Galbreath and Wellsandt slipping onto the podium

The boys 4X100 Relay team of Klein, Steinberger, Schilling and Kinch finished fourth with a time of 44.94.

In other events, Saige Galrebath finished 12th overall in girls discuss with a throw of 95-07.

As a team, the Broncos finished mid-pack.

The boys finished 16th in their division with 19 team points. St. George's won the boys team title with 75 points, followed by Goldendale with 44.

The Bronco girls scored 9 team points to finish 23rd overall. St. George's won the girls title with 95 team points, followed by Davenport in second with 67.5.
