Golfers go to state

Two Lind-Ritzville/Sprague golfers are competing in the state tournament May 21-22 at Tumwater Valley Golf Club. Lance Williamson, left, and Beau Fode flank Coach Jack Welker at a high school send-off last week. According to Athletic Director Dustin Arlt, a practice round was scheduled for Monday, May 20. Competitors who finished in the top half of a field of roughly 60 golfers Tuesday qualified to compete in the final round Wednesday. Williamson placed eighth at district with scores of 79 and 87. Fode finished 18th at districts, good enough to earn a state-alternate designation.
