Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
RITZVILLE – Residents across Eastern Washington woke up to an unexpected surprise on Friday, April 5, as snow blanketed various parts of the region.
National Weather Service meteorologist Steven Van Horn said the snowfall totals were noteworthy.
While Ritzville receive about a half-inch of snow, it wasn’t record-setting. But in Rosalia, in Whitman County, snowfall set a record.
“Rosalia saw an astonishing 4.8 inches of snow, marking a record for April snowfall in the area,” Van Horn said. “We’ve been keeping records on Rosalia’s weather since the late 1800s.”
