Lind-Ritzville struggles to gain traction
LEWISTON - The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague track team struggled to gain traction against large schools, Friday, March 15, in its season-opening competition at the Sweeney Invitational.
The boys tied with Deary, Idaho, for 14th as at team with 7 team points. The Bronco girls finished last with only 3 team points.
Post Falls, Idaho, won the boys team title with 177.5 points, followed by Connell with 66.
Coeur d'Alene won the girls title with 140 team points, followed by Post Falls with 108.
Individually, junior Brody Boness placed the highest for the Broncos, taking seventh-place in javelin, with a flight of 117 feet, 5 inches.
The boys 4X100 relay team also finished seventh, with a time of 47.34 seconds. The team featured freshman Brett Cresse, sophomore Damon Schilling, junior Zach Klein and senior Shawn Steinberger. Their time was
In the boys 4X400 relay, the Broncos finished sixth, with Klein, Steinberger, Schilling and senior Bridger Moore each taking a lap for a combined time of 3:42.90.
In the girls 4X100 relay, the Bronco team finished 10th with a time of 57.80. The team includes freshman Aly Mendez, sophomore Saige Galbreath, and juniors Addy Colbert and Claire Wellsandt.
In the girls 4X200 realy, Mendez, Wellsandt, Saige Galbreath and sophomore Zoe Galbreath finished eighth overall with a time of 2:01.92. The same girls finished seventh in the 4X400 relay with a time of 4:45.86.
