Michael J Connors

Sept.20,1961-Jan.14,2024

Mike was born at USARJ, Camp Zama, Japan, to William and Ethel Connors, returning to Pennsylvania when Mike was ten years old. Mike was a kind, intelligent, and humble man, living with his Partner, Sue Nichols, for 27 years after meeting at work in 1995. Mike's passion was Astronomy, Astrophotography, golf and bowling.

He took many images of the night sky, and the many deep space nebulae, taking advantage of the pristine dark skies that exist in the Lind Ritzville area. He had a viewing telescope which had a 20 inch mirror. On holiday weekends the families visiting Rimrock Meadows, would form a line that circled around the Rimrock Clubhouse, to look at Saturn and its rings.

He also remembers, fondly, his golfing friends (primarily Rick Sharp and Rick Schwartz) and the many years that they spent playing golf.

Mike enjoyed the six years that he worked at Ritzville Computer and Internet, as it was a great way to be introduced to the Ritzville community.

Mike and Sue made many friends at EARH in Ritzville, with the many staff members who cared for him gently, and with great compassion, as he succumbed to the ravages of pancreatic cancer; Yvonne, Janice, Kevin, Judy, Sheila (both), Kelly, Larissa, Gina, Mannie, Russell, Nicole, Suzi, Wendy, Stacie, and so many others, thank you for caring. For all of the many community friends, and FB friends, who prayed for Mike, our sincerest Thanks.

Our thanks to Holly Bartz, who stopped by after work every day, and on her days off, to visit with Mike and Sue, bringing laughter and joy into their lives.

Thank you to Val Maier, who started off as a little known neighbor, and now has transformed into so much more than that; a sister.

The 62 years that Mike lived, filled with so much grace, intelligence and dignity, just as he had lived his life.

Mike is survived by his brother, Brian Connors and his wife, Carlene Salazar.

Last, Sue Nichols, whose life will be so much less enjoyable, without Mike.
