LIND – A local farmer is being credited with directing $5,000 to help the Lind Senior Center.
Albert Wollman directed a $5,000 Bayer Fund America’s Farmers Grow Communities to the center.
“The donation on behalf of Albert Wollman will assist in our Lind Senior Center to continue providing
service to our community,” Senior Center President Phyllis Heil said. “Our center is open for meals each weekday except Tuesday for socialization and a noon meal.
“We also deliver meals in town to those folks that are home bound. Our building can be rented for community activities or private gatherings. These funds will be used for utilities, insurance, maintenance, payroll, and to purchase food for the meals we serve.”
Last August, farmers entered for the chance to direct a $5,000 Grow Communities donation to a local eligible nonprofit of their choice.
Wollman won the opportunity.
Farmers have directed donations to food banks, emergency response organizations, schools, youth agriculture programs and many others that reflect the spirit and support the vibrancy of rural America.
“Bayer Fund is proud to work side-by-side with farmers to identify local eligible nonprofit organizations that are able to provide their residents with solutions that leave a lasting impact,” fund president Al Mitchell said.
