Campbell finishes fourth

Eagles compete at Crusader Classic

COLBERT – A St. John-Endicott finished fourth Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Crusader Classic at Northwest Christian.

Steven Campbell finished fourth at 175 pounds.

Campbell is one of only two grapplers for the Eagles – the other is Cameron Mathia at 113.

Campbell opened with a bye and then a loss by pin to Reed Widman of Liberty in 3:47.

In the wrestlebacks, he received a bye, then pinned Talen Kent of Kettle Falls in 1:59 and Mason Watt Shilwin of East Valley (Spokane Valley in 1:20.

In the medal match for third place, Campbell came up short, finishing fourth after he was pinned by Deacon Medeiros of Kettle Falls in 30 seconds.

Eagle teammate Mathia lost his two 113-pound matches.

He was pinned by Hunter Coe of Riverside (Nine Mile Falls); the time was not reported. He was then pinned by Peyton Lingo of St. Maries, Idaho, in 3:32.
