RITZVILLE – The Big Bend Electric Co-op's Caring Neighbors programs recently announced grants.
The funds come from co-op ratepayers allow their electric bills to be rounded up to raise funds to help pay for local needs.
Following a December meeting, the Caring Neighbors announced the following grants:
Basin City Help Services -$2,900 to help fund food for families in need
Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools-$700 to help fund field trip for culinary arts and dues
Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools-$1,000 to assist in funding Santa Fly-In and Candy Cane Lane event for area youth
Othello Senior Center-$1,000 to help purchase exercise equipment
The Old Hotel Art Gallery-$1,500 to help fund art classes
Washtucna Food Bank-$2,100 to assist with funding food bank facility rent
