Local man facing multiple charges

RITZVILLE – A local man is facing multiple charges following a weeks-long investigation.

Brian Scott Massey, 35, was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, Jan. 2, in Adams County Superior Court on charges of residential burglary with sexual motivation, attempted indecent liberties, fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation and three warrants for failing to appear in court.

Those warrants were issued by Adams County District Court in Ritzville for failing to appear for second-degree criminal trespassing.

As of press time, he was being held without bail in the Franklin County Jail.

According to police, Massey was arrested at about 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30. The probable cause statement wasn't available before press time due to the holiday.

Massey has a lengthy criminal history in Adams County.

In October, he pleaded guilty to three criminal trespass charges. In 2021, he also had outstanding warrants for alleged harassment, malicious mischief and possession of a dangerous weapon.
