ASOTIN – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague boys basketball team remained undefeated last week after topping Medical Lake, Upper Columbia Academy and Asotin.
The Broncos doubled up on the Medical Lake Cardinals, 70-37, on Dec. 5, then followed up with a 52-37 win over Upper Columbia on Dec. 7.
On Dec. 9, the Broncos (5-0) then topped Asotin, 76-68.
This week, the Broncos were scheduled to host Liberty (Spangle) on Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Colfax on Friday, Dec. 16.
Against Medical Lake, the Broncos scored often, taking an 18-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 38-16 lead at the half. In the third quarter, they expanded their lead by 11 more points, to take a 58-25 lead into the final stanza.
Both the Broncos and Cardinals (1-1) scored 12 points in the final quarter.
Joey Duff led the charge for the Broncos with 20 points and teammate Brock Kinch added 15.
Lance Williamson and Shawn Steinberger each added 10 points, with Zach Klein scoring 7, Schilling 5 and Bridger Moore 2.
Duff continued to hit the net effectively against Upper Columbia, leading all scorers with 25 points as the Broncos cruised to an easy win over the Upper Columbia Lions.
The Broncos jumped out to an 18-4 first quarter lead and took a 26-18 lead to halftime. The Broncos outscored the Lions in each of the final two quarters to put the game away.
In that game, Steinberger added 12, Williamson 6, Kinch 5 and Klein 4 in the win over the 0-2 Lions.
Wrapping up the week at Asotin, Kinch led the Broncos with 16 points as teammate Williamson added 15 to down the 2-2 Panthers in a Northeast 2B league game.
Duff and Klein each scored 14, while Steinberger added 13.
Moore also scored 4 points.
The Broncos led that game start to finish, jumping out to a 25-16 first quarter lead and expanding it to 44-32 by halftime.
