Broncos head to Okanogan

Bronco football team makes crossovers

RITZVILLE – The visiting Asotin Panthers handed the Broncos their fourth loss of the season in Class 2B football on Friday, Oct. 27, on Jimmie Snider Field.

The Panthers (7-2) topped Lind-Ritzville/Sprague (5-4), 24-8.

Game statistics were not reported by press time.

The loss drops the Broncos into a third-place tie with the Jenkins Cougars and Reardan Screaming Eagles in the Northeast 2B league.

This Friday, Nov. 3, the Broncos will travel to Okanogan for a District 6/7 crossover game against the undefeated Bulldogs.

Okanogan (9-0) is ranked No. 2 in state Class 2B football, behind top-ranked Napavine (8-1). The Broncos are currently ranked No. 20.

The last time the two met on the gridiron was the District 6/7 crossover game last year, also in Okanogan.

In that game, the Bulldogs ended the Broncos state-aspirations, 55-7, on Nov. 4.

The Bulldogs finished second in the state playoffs last year, behind Napavine.
