Undefeated Broncos ranked No. 2 in state
RITZVILLE — The Bronco girls notched another important win Thursday, Oct. 12, spiking league rivals Liberty (Spangle) and Reardan last week.
On Thursday, oct. 12, the Broncos (13-0, 8-0 in league) won all three sets, 25-20, to stay unbeaten. That win can two days after the local girls swept the Reardan Screaming Eagles.
Against Liberty (7-5, 5-3 in league), Zoe Galbreath lead the Broncos with 16 assists, 8 kills and an ace.
Teammate Sage Galbreath had 14 dig, 2 blocks and an ace.
Addy Colbert posted 8 kills for Lind-Ritzville/Sprague and 1 ace.
On the Lancer side of the court, Kendall Denny led the team with 10 asssists, 6 kills, 26 digs and an ace.
Brooke Redder posted 11 kills and 8 assists. And Lancers Zoe Omlin added 27 digs, Brenna Tiegs 6 blocks and Devyn Cook 4 blocks.
Against Reardan (2-7, 1-5 in league), senior Megan Melcer led the Broncos with 8 kills and 4 aces and Colbert had 11 assists.
With the wins, the Bronco girls still sit atop Northeast 2B league standings, followed by Jenkins (Chewelah) and Colfax in second and third, respectively.
For the second week in a row, Adna (12-0) leads the statewide Class 2B girls volleyball poll; Lind-Ritzville/Sprague is ranked No. 2.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Manson, river View and Warden, respectively.
The Broncos were scheduled to wrap up their regular season play Thuesday, Oct. 17 in Davenport (Davenport).
