COLFAX - The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague cross country team wrapped up its regular season Friday, Oct. 13, at the Northeast 1B/2B league championships at Colfax Golf Club.
In the boys varsity 5,000-meter race, junior Cameron Christianson led the way for the Broncos, finishing 58th overall with a time of 20:41.00. Senior Caleb Heater was 73rd with a time of 21:26.92.
Savannah Carruth, a junior, was the lone Bronco in the girls varsity 5,000-meter field. She finished 28th overall with a time of 26:12.56.
The Broncos didn't have enough runners to score as a team.
In middle school competition over 1.5 miles, the Bronco boys finished ninth as a team with 191 points. Jenkins Middle school won with a team low score of 45, followed by Colfax with 70 and Reardan with 72.
Eighth-grader Wyatt Walker paced the younger Lind-Ritzville/Sprague team with a 19th-place finish in 10:41.25. Teammates seventh-grader Jayden Stark was 40th with a time of 11:28.95 and sixth-grader Zachary Heater 52nd in 12:06.50.
Other Bronco runners included seventh-grader Graham Christianson, 62nd, in 12:51.80; sixth-grader Jonathan Nolan, 63rd, in 12:53.96; and seventh-grader Isaiah Busby, 73rd, in 14:12.55.
The local girls were led by eighth-grader Reagan Korthuis, who finished in 12:02.48 for 17th place, the highest finish of any Lind-Ritzville/Sprague runner in the event.
Sixth-grader Finley Curtis was 23rd in 12:20.08 and seventh-grader Emily Nolan was 44th in 14:20.91.
