OTHELLO – A local woman and her boyfriend are in jail this week after being arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting.
Joel Sergio Gonzalez, 21, of Warden, and Christina Lorraine Perez, 35, of Othello, were both arrested and booked into jail on charges of first-degree drive-by shooting, court records show.
Gonzalez was booked in to the Franklin County Jail and Perez in the Benton County Jail following their arrests Saturday, Aug. 19.
Both are being held without bail under a contract with Adams County.
The two are charged in connection with a drive-by shooting that took place Friday evening, Aug. 18, in the 1000 block of East Cedar Street, records show.
Armed with a vehicle description, detectives were able to identify the individuals, records show, noting the couple was tracked into Grant County.
Detectives notified police in Warden and Moses Lake, where the couple’s vehicle was found five hours later.
Details on which was driving and which was shooting have yet to be released.
Othello police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call 509-488-3314.
In other arrests over the weekend, the Adams County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office reported Ivan Simon Montejano, 27, of Othello, was booked into the Benton County Jail, where he is being held under contract without bail.
Booked into the jail Sunday evening, Montejano is charged with residential burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
Details of his arrest were not released as of press time.
