Joan Patterson, 88, passed away peacefully at home Aug. 3, 2023 surrounded by family. Joan was born and raised in Spokane, Wash. She was one of 10 children and attended St. Aloysius Catholic School. In 1954 she married William Patterson and in 1968 the couple moved to Ritzville, Wash., where they raised their 9 children. She was well known in the community for her kind and generous spirit. She volunteered her time and was heavily involved in her church. She always had fresh baked cookies and a pot of coffee for friends and family. She lived a humble life devoted to serving God. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Patterson, son Gerald Patterson, grandson David Patterson, granddaughter Tessa Patterson, her parents, and 6 siblings.
She is survived by her remaining children Paul(Sharie) Provinsal, Ralph Patterson, Richard(Nancy)Patterson, Judy Rand, Jeffery Patterson, Daryl(Precilia) Patterson, Doreen(Robert) Ballard, Michele Patterson and her fiance David Carleton. She is also survived by 22 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Church service for Joan will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Aug. 19, 2023 at 10:00 am In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church, E 404, W. 5th Ave, Ritzville, WA 99169.
