Margaret Janice Kienbaum, 84, passed away July 28, 2023, at Holy Family Hospital, Spokane, Wash. She was born Margaret Janice Sensat on Aug. 16, 1938, in Welsh, La. Margaret met her life partner of 55 years, Dale Kienbaum, in 1955 when he was stationed in Lake Charles, La. They were married on March 11, 1956, in Lake Charles, La.

Margaret was an accomplished pianist and organist with a beautiful singing voice. She was the organist and music director at the Catholic Church in Washtucna, Wash., for many years. She was also a master knitter and in her later years knitted hundreds of children's sweaters and socks which she donated to various charities in Spokane, Wash., and around the world. Margaret and Dale were active in Heal the Children and were foster parents. Margaret also received her bachelor's degree in Sociology after her children were grown and worked with troubled youth at Morning Star Boy's Ranch in Spokane, Wash.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, and her grandson, Blain Ebert.

Margaret is survived by daughter Lucy (Paul)Tacheron, daughter Jeanette Cummings (spouse Ronald LeFebvre), son Charles (Susan)Kienbaum , son Leslie (Kimberly)Kienbaum, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be held Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 6122 WA-291, Nine Mile Falls, Wash. Rosary at 10:00 am, Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, with a reception following at the church.
