WASHTUCNA — Thanks to a Benge woman, the town may have an old eatery revived.
On July 28, Bridget Coon, closed on the purchase of Sonny’s Tavern, 250 S. Main St., Adams County Assessor’s Office records show. She paid $111,800 for the 1,976-square-foot restaurant. Glen and Christian Running II purchased half of the business for $40,000 on July 21, 2016, from Ronald B. Ackles Sr., who retained an equal share of ownership until Coon purchased the building.
Ackles had owned the building since Jan. 24, 2011.
Coon and her husband, Paul Coon, operate the Bar U Ranch near Benge. “We are excited to share that today we officially took ownership of Sonny’s,” the Coons wrote on the “Washtucna Wa Our Town” social media page.
