ODESSA — A local entrepreneur is opening a new restaurant in downtown Odessa.
Nate Lathrop opened 410 Burgers at the intersection of Birch Street and First Avenue on Friday, June 30, just in time for the Odessa Car Show over the holiday weekend.
“I think every town should have a burger shop,” Lathrop said, noting he had grown up watching the town’s burger shop struggle and finally close.
The opportunity to open a restaurant sort of “fell into our hands,” he said, when speaking about buying the property with business partner and co-owner Abel V. Guerrero.
The restaurant sources its beef from the Lathrop Family Ranch and will serve burgers, fries, drinks, ice cream and milkshakes.
The name “410 Burgers” is in recognition of the state Highway 410, used by the Lathrop family to reach their Naches-area ranch, Lathrop said.
The family’s beef is inspected and packaged by Limit Bid Packing just outside of Odessa, he said.
410 Burgers is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday.
Running a restaurant isn’t a new thing for Lathrop; he also operates Rolling Thunder Pizza, which is undergoing a change.
The pizza parlor will be back soon as Rolling Thunder Pizza and Subs located at 13 W. First Ave.
He has also organized car shows in town.
