Susan Joy Fowler
1944-2023
Susan was born in 1944 in Bremerton, Wash. She went to meet the Lord in 2023. She is survived by 4 children from her first marriage; Joy Moorehead, Bruce Sherwood, Paul Sherwood, Rose Fisher, and her 6 grandchildren; Aimee Scott, Kevin Benton, Austin Sherwood, Samuel Sherwood, Coral Fisher, and Ciara Pipe.
Susan was preceded in death by her first husband, Milton Sherwood, then by her second husband, Donald Fowler.
Susan had a degree in bookkeeping and worked many years as a bookkeeper in the construction industry.
Susan regularly attended Bethany Baptist Church in Connell,Wash., as she was a resident of Lind, Wash., over the past 15 years.
Susan was not afraid to learn and do new things. Shortly after moving to Shelton, Wash., after Milton's Army service, Susan actually got a license to use dynamite in stump removal during their construction of their home. In later years, while she was married to Donald, she learned how to hunt and went on hunting trips. If there was something that needed to be done around her home, she would simply look it up on "YouTube" so she could learn how to do it herself and then get the tools to do so.
Susan had numerous hobbies; she enjoyed gardening, rock hounding/Lapidary work, wood working, crafting, fishing, kayaking, and sharing her love of the Lord. She was avid about natural health care and would share her knowledge with anyone who would listen as she truly cared about helping others feel better. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held for Susan at 1pm on July 15th, at Bethany Baptist Church in Connell. Donations can be made in Susan's name to a couple of projects she was supporting: Jon and Kelli La Belle's project to ship bibles to Sierra Leone through Bethany Baptist Church, or to Sara Goodman's medical mission up the Amazon River directly at https://www.bimi.org/missionaries/goodmanS.php .
