DAVENPORT – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls fastpitch softball team was scheduled to be on the field Tuesday, May 9, in a bid to secure a District 7 NE2B seed.
The Bronco girls (10-6 in league) were in a three-way tie for the No. 3 seed in the district with the Jenkins (Chewelah) Cougars and the Liberty (Spangle) Lancers, setting up the Round Robin tiebreaker.
The tie-breaking games were set to begin with the Broncos facing the Cougars at 1 p.m. at Davenport’s ball fields.
The game started after The Journal went to press.
If the Broncos won, they would have played against at 3 p.m. If they lost; the 3 p.m. game would determine if the Lind-Ritzville girls would get a shot at a higher seed in a 5 p.m. game.
The winning team in the round Robin gets the No. 3 district seed; the second team gets a No. 4 seed and the losing team gets seeded No. 5.
Northwest Christian (Colbert) and Colfax sit atop the NE2B rankings.
