Boys baseball team eliminated

District playoffs underway

COLFAX – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague boys baseball season came to an end Thursday, May 4, at the District 7 Northeast 2B tournament.

The No. 8 Broncos fell to No. 7 Kettle Falls, 4-3.

Individual statistics were not reported for the game.

The loss wraps up the 2023 season for the Broncos.

Kettle falls advanced to the district quarterfinals that same afternoon, but were eliminated by the Colfax Bulldogs, 16-4.

Cross bracket, Liberty (Spangle) took a district-opening win, 5-0, over Reardan.

The Lancers then lost, 10-0, to Asotin.

The NE2B semifinals take place Wednesday, May 10, at Medical Lake High School.

The No. 1 seeded Jenkins (Chewelah) Cougars will take to the diamond against the No. 2 Northwest Christian (Colbert) Crusaders at 10 a.m.

The winner of that game will earn a state playoffs berth.

Colfax and Asotin will face off in the other semifinal at 1 p.m.

The losing team's season will come to an end.

But the winner will advance to play the loser of the Jenkins-Northwest Christian game; the victor advances to state; the loser will be eliminated.
