ASOTIN - The Bronco girls bounced back from a doubleheader loss Wednesday, March 29, to split with Asotin on Saturday, April 1.
The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls won the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader, 13-3, but lost the nightcap in a close 9-8 battle.
The split doubleheader followed losses on the road to the Colfax Bulldogs, 15-0 and 25-2, last Wednesday.
No game details were reported from Asotin.
But in Colfax, the local girls faced the undefeated Bulldogs on a windy afternoon Northeast 2B matchup.
Pitcher Delaney Imler tossed a 3-hit game for the Bulldogs, without allowing a run and striking out 8 Bronco batters.
Colfax's Harley Hennigar drew first blood, with a "fielder's choice" hit and that led to a score.
A fourth-inning charge for Coflax kicked off with 7 runs scored by Karmen Akkeson, Harper Booth, Imler, Hennigar and Devan Becker.
In Game 2, Colfax scored 13 runs in the first inning, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
Akkeson, Booth, Ava Swan, Jessa Patnode, Jones and Brenna Gilchrist all drove in runs.
Akkeson took charge of the plate and lasted the 5 innings on the mound, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs and striking out 3.
