Floyd Alvin "Skip" Thompson

Floyd Alvin 'Skip' Thompson passed away on Wed. Dec. 7 2022.

Skip was born in Bremerton, Wash. on Sept. 30, 1935 to Norman and Maude Thompson. Growing up, his family worked throughout Wash and Idaho and he followed this trend until settling in Lind after 6 years of service in the Marines. He met his wife Doris in Bonners Ferry, Idaho and they were married in 1957. After moving to Lind in 1959 Skip held several jobs including working for Adams County, local farmers, as a bartender, and the gas station. In 1969 he bought Skip's Service Center and then Slim's Tavern in 1976. Skip was a proud member of the American Legion and supporter of community events.

Skip was preceded in death by his wife Doris, son Norman 'Buddy', siblings Margaret, Grace, Maude, Norman, and Yvonne. Skip is survived by his brother Dale, daughter Kim, grandchildren Celeste and Daniel, and great grandson Brock.

Funeral services will be held at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Lind, Wash. on Fri, Dec.16, at 11:00 am with a potluck to follow at Slims Tavern. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Hope Lutheran Church.
