Ritzville Loses to

Kennewick Huskies

Outweighed and outplayed, but fighting to the last ditch, the Ritzville high school football team went down to defeat before the onslaught of the husky Kennewick team at the fairgrounds Friday afternoon, the final score being 27 to 0. Kennewick won because they were the better team and they had the advantage in weight, but at the final whistle there was not one of the "big brutes" but knew he had been in a football game.

Very Little Serious Property

Damage Done Hallowe'en Eve

is Report of City Officials

Very little property damage was done on Hallowe'en, Chief of Police Duffy reported today. Several strings of street lights were shot out, traffic signs were over-painted and fences torn down, but in general, behavior of Ritzville's youths was quite commendable according to Duffy.

Barbara Heimbigner Gets

Chicago Trip for 4-H Achievement

Barbara Jean Hiembigner, 4-H Queen of the 1947 Adams County Fair, was recently selected to attend the National 4-H Club Congress at Chicago this year. Miss Hiembigner was chosen for the Chicago trip on the basis of her 4-H work in Adams County.

County Road Workers Mull

$60 a Mo. Offer

Adams County Commissioners offered road employees a salary increase of $60 a month across the board in negotiations held Monday afternoon. The road workers union, in a unanimous vote Friday night at Lind, had rejected the county's earlier offer of $45 a month. Commissioner Gordon Hays said the $60 increase would amount to about a 7 per cent advance in salary.

Washtucna Girl Appears on TV

Washtucna – Janet Denman, pre-school daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Denman, appeared on KHQ's Romper Room TV show last Saturday and yesterday. Janet will be on the program for two weeks, weekdays at 9 a.m. The program is directed to kindergarten age children. Attending the studio presentations last week were Mrs. Denman and Mrs. Elsie Wilder, Ritzville.

Burglary investigated

at new golf cart shed

The Ritzville Police Department is investigating a break in and burglary at the new golf cart shed on the Ritzville Golf Course. The theft occurred sometime between 2 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 12:15 p.m. Nov. 1 when a complainant reported the break in. Police found a side door pushed in. Several golf clubs were the only known items taken at press time. The value of the clubs has been set at $1,000.

Ritzville Fun Center

team winners

The Ritzville Fun Center's first all-around team play championship was won by the team of Andy Stegmeier, Travis Kubik, Ryan McCroskey, Tracy Paulson, Justin Bartley and Philip Newton. They played five different games of intense and skillful play at the fun center. The four-hour event was a fun time for the players and spectators alike, who cheered the teams on.
