Broncos wrap up cross country season

CHEWELAH — The Broncos cross country season came to a close Saturday at the 1B/2B Regionals at Chewelah Golf Course.

Junior Caleb Heater paced the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna/Harrington boys.

He finished the 5,000-meter course in 20:48.10 in 66th place. Sophomore teammate Brix Curtis was 68th overall with a time of 21:14.70.

Cameron Christianson, also a sophomore, was 81st with 22:36.40.

St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse senior Rory Maloney was the top area runner in the 1B/2B boys race.

He finished 50th overall with a time of 19:57.60. His sophomore teammate Braiden Thomas was 76th with a time of 22:11.0.

In the girls event, the only Bronco in the field was freshman Maeve Korthuis.

She was 38th overall with a time of 28:15.70.

St. John-Endicott/ LaCrosse didn’t have any runners in the girls field.

The state cross country meet takes place on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
