Area girls ranked in volleyball coaches poll

RITZVILLE – Two area girls volleyball teams have received rankings nods from the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna/Harrington Broncos were ranked earlier this week at No. 6 in Class 2B.

League rival Colfax was ranked No. 5.

Colfax and Lind-Ritzville were scheduled to face off Tuesday night in Colfax; the newspaper went to press before the game started.

Others in the Top 5 included No. 1 Kalama, No. 2 La Conner, No. 3 Mason and No. 4 Goldendale.

The Northeast 2B’s Liberty and Upper Columbia Academy, both in Spangle, received votes, but were outside the Top 10.

In Class 1B, the St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse girls were ranked No. 4, behind Whitman County rival and defending state champion Oakesdale at No. 1, Mossyrock at No. 2 and Naselle at No. 3.

The Odessa Tiger girls also received votes, but fell outside the Top 10.
