PASCO – It was never a contested game.
The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna/Harrington boys football team cruised to an easy win Friday, Sept. 19, over Tri-Cities Prepatory.
The Broncos (2-1) led the Jaguars (2-1) from start to finish in the 48-7 non-league win over the Pasco-based private school.
Broncos quarterback Chase Galbreath passed for four touchdowns in the win. Running back Brody Boness rushed for two.
Lind-Ritzville got on the board in the first quarter on a 36-year run by Boness. Galbreath added the PAT to take a 7-0 lead.
The Broncos exploded for 34 points in the second quarter.
Brock Kinch caught a 39-year TD pass from Galbreath and Boness added another TD on a 5-yard dive. Galbreath added PATs on both scores.
Then Hayden Melcher scored on a 29-pass reception on another Galbreath throw. The PAT failed and the Broncos led 27-0.
Late in the quarter, Hunter Dinkins put up a defensive touchdown when he picked off a Bryson Wilde pass and rambled into the endzone for an easy pick six. Galbreath added another PAT and the Broncos took a 41-0 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Boness caught another TD pass from Galbreath, this time for a 32-yard strike. Galbreath again added the PAT.
The Jaguars wouldn’t get on the board until the fourth quarter when sophomore Wilde completed an 8-yard pass to junior running back Ulices Estrada. The Jaguars converted the PAT to make the score 48-7, which would be the final score of the game.
Overall, Galbreath passed for 159 yards in the win.
With the win, the Broncos moved into fourth place in the NE2B, behind undefeated Davenport, Liberty and Jenkins (Chewelah), all with 3-0 records.
The Broncos only loss so far this season is a 27-26 upset to Liberty in Spangle.
The Davenport Gorillas come to town for a big NE2B matchup at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23.
The Broncos won’t face the Jenkins Cougars until Oct. 7.
