New wheat is coming
in slowly
Wheat is coming in very slowly this year and local warehouses are about as quiet as other business in the city.
Generally at this season of the year, wheat hauling has started in earnest and the wagons and trucks form long processions upon the city streets.
Billy Ross, of the O'Neil Grain Co., says he is usually handing from two to three thousand bushels daily at this time of the season, but this year has plenty of time to loaf.

Plane crashes Wednesday; pilot uninjured
A light plane piloted by Sgt. Joseph W. Younher, who is stationed at Fort George Wright, cracked up at the local airport late yesterday afternoon. Sgt. Younher was uninjured.
Younher had rented the plane from Wallace Air Service of Spokane and was taking a cross country flight. He decided to land at Ritzville and circled the field once. He tried to make his landing down wind, overshot the field ...

Sears opening
celebration this weekend
Mr. and Mrs. Del Angel plan their grand opening celebration at the Sears Catalog store this weekend. The Angels moved to Ritzville in June and took ownership of the Sears store here from MR. and Mrs. Bob Schmoker who had operated it for more than a year.
Mr. and Mrs. Angel moved here from Prineville, Ore., and are parents of four children. In Prine-ville, they operated a Western Auto Associate Store.
The grand opening will run today, Friday and Saturday.

Recycling coordinator to be located in Othello
The offices for the recycling coordinator for the county will be located in Othello and the coordinator position will also be based in Othello. This is the decision made in the regular meeting of the Adams County Commission.
Advertising to fill the vacant recycling coordinator position will be run with discussion later related to the purchase of a separate building to house the coordinator.
