Motorist perishes following medical emergency

RITZVILLE -- An Idaho motorist suffered a medical emergency and died near Milepost 93 of U.S. Highway 395 late July 25.

Kyle W. Dreher, 41, of Hayden, Idaho, was pronounced dead at East Adams Rural Healthcare, according the Washington State Patrol. His family was notified of his death by the hospital.

Dreher had a medical emergency at about 9:55 p.m. Thursday, July 25, while southbound on the highway, the patrol reported.

His vehicle, a 2018 Volvo truck towing a 2020 trailer, veered off the roadway near Milepost 93, crashed through a fence and crossed over Freese Road, about three miles south of the city, the patrol reported.

The vehicle came to rest in a field about 200 feet off the roadway, the patrol said.
