Eagles compete in state track

Athletes place in 1B/2B/1A meet

CHENEY - The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles were among the teams competing in the state 1B/2B/1A track and field meet at Eastern Washington University from May 26-28.

The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse girls tied for 12th with 21 points in the 1B meet. In boys, St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse and Garfield-Palouse tied for seventh with 33 team points.

The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse boys grabbed a few individual medals.

Logan Marconi was 5th in the 800-meter in 2:07.49.

In the 110-meter high hurdles, Ryan Anderson was 4th in 17.20 and Rory Maloney 7th in 17.76.

The duo also finished 5th and 6th, respectively with Anderson finishing the 300-meter low hurdles in 44.58 and Maloney in 44.85..

The Eagles boys struck gold in the 4X400 relay, with Matthew Logen, Marconi, Maloney and Anderson winning in a time of 3:39.86.

Anderson was also 4th in pole vault, clearing 12-00.00.

The Eagles girls also faired well in field events.

Ashlynn Archer was 4th in discus with a toss of 105-08.00, and 8th in triple jump with a leap of 31.03-00.

St. John-Endicott's Sophie Larsen was 4th in pole vault, clearing 7-09. Teammates Cami Larsen, Archer and Haily Marty were right behind her, all tied for 5th, clearing 7-00.
