RITZVILLE – The hometown Broncos scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th and had the tying run at the plate, but it was not enough to knock off the visiting Davenport Gorillas in a Northeast 2B play-in game Monday, May 16.
The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna girls fastpitch softball team lost the game, 13-10.
Davenport's Gorillas earn a berth in the District playoff and for the Broncos the season is over.
The play-in game was set up when Davenport and Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna split a double header in Davenport on Tuesday, May 10.
Davenport won the first game 14-4, but the Broncos bounced back taking the second game 9-3, creating a tie for season record and the need for the final game.
Collette Nichols earned All-League Second Team honors on the season.
