RITZVILLE – Bad behavior was on display Saturday, April 29, when the Kettle Falls Bulldogs came to town for doubleheaders in boys baseball and girls fastpitch softball.
The games were delayed 2 hours due to weather.
In the 7th inning of the first baseball game against host Lind-Ritzville/Sprague, a Kettle Falls coach was ejected by an umpire.
”You guys are a joke,” the coach shouted as he left the field.
Minutes later, over at the softball diamond, an umpire issued a team warning to the Kettle Falls coach for the behavior of Bulldogs’ spectators.
All of this occurred in games that were eventually swept by the Bulldogs.
“It was very unfortunate all of that happened and several times throughout the games they displayed poor sportsmanship,” Bronco baseball coach Dustan Arlt said. “With numbers of youth sports umpires and officials dwindling year-after-year, often due to unsportsmanlike conduct among coaches and parents, one has to wonder what purpose such behavior serves. “
In baseball Kettle Falls won the first game, 10-7.
Bronco pitcher Owen Telecky struck out 7 and gave up 6 earned runs in the loss.
Chase Galbreath, Zach Klein and Traye Redburn each had 2 hits for the Broncos.
