Annual Undeberg Invite held

RITZVILLE – More than 500 athletes from 28 schools converged on Ritzville, on a cool gray Saturday, April 29, with occasional drizzle, for the annual Undeberg Invitational Track Meet.

The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna boys finished 15th overall with a team score of 15.5 points. Meanwhile, the girls wrapped up the meet in 20th place with 9.5 points.

The nearby St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagle boys were 12th with 24.2 team points; Okanogan won with 157.

The Eagle girls were third overall with 47 team points; Jenkins (Chewelah) won with 81.25 points.

Girls

• Syney Kinch, who won the long jump with a leap of 15-04. Kinch placed fourth in pole vault clearing 7-00.00. Sophie Larsen of St. John-Endicott/Lacrosse won the event clearing 7-06.00.

• Myra Miller placed eighth in shot put with a throw of 28-08.00. Lexi Lafferty of Okanogan won the event with a toss of 34-09.50.

Boys

• Shawn Steinberger placed sixth in the boys 400 meters with a personal best time of 56.07 seconds. Lucas Paul of Liberty (Spangle) won the event in 52.55.

• Brock Kinch placed fifth in the long jump with a personal best leap of 17-00.50. Steinberger was seventh jumping 16-08.00. Colin Hughes of Wellpinit won the event with a jump of 19-06.00.
